The shape of a 3D printer supplies are solid round wire at the present, the main raw material has PLA, PVA, HIPS, ABS, PC, etc., products range from 1.75 mm to 3.0 mm diameter. Advantage of PLA 3D PRINTER FILAMENT:
- Non-toxic To human body, harmless to the environment;
- Good toughness, high strength, suitable for printing complex model;
- Low shrinkage rate low, print size stability;
- Printing temperature 190-220du, lower than other materials.
Comparison between PLA and ABS material:
PLA (crystal):
- Low melting point, working temperature is low (about 180-200du);
- No big volatilization during working, slightly cotton candy scent;
- Working time is shorter, printing fast, edges won't warp when printing large models;
- PLA refining from corn, finished product is safe, excellent gloss and color;
- Hardness of finished product hardness both material is similar;
- If the nozzle clogging, PLA is easy processed, soaked in hot water or use ABS push.
ABS (amorphous):
- High melting point, working temperature is higher (about 23du);
- Poisonous breath during working, even harmful to "eye";
- Production time is longer, printing speed is slow, edge warp when printing large models;
- ABS is Engineering plastics by petroleum refining, not suitable for tableware, gloss, color is dark dumb;
- Hardness of finished product hardness both material is similar;
- If the nozzle clogging will have trouble, not easy to clear.
PVA water-soluble materials
Advantages of PVA:
- Non-toxic To human body, harmless to the environment;
- Soluble in water at room temperature, without other solvents;
- Easy to shed, do not affect printing surfaces;
- Print temperature 190-200du, with PLA work wonders.
